Why is Second Chances Tattoo Removal dedicated to the removal of tattoos and ONLY tattoos? Because you need a specialist who is dedicated to removal of tattoos that hinder your daily life!
After years of working in the tattoo industry, Corrie Noakes - Certified Laser Specialist, has knowledge and experience with the tattooing process. How the tattoo is installed, how the pigments (inks) are made, and at what depth the pigment is installed.
“My experience in the tattooing industry has helped me to understand the complete tattooing process. This had an enormous impact in helping me with the removal process of tattoos.“
Located exclusively at the Emporium of Design, Second Chances Tattoo Removal is the only laser tattoo removal system in Denver that is located in a tattoo parlor. And I might add, in Denver’s oldest tattoo parlor!
Not only can Second Chances Tattoo Removal help you get rid of your tattoos permanently, we also have master tattoo artists on hand to assist us in lighting up of your tattoo for a cover up. . .if this is what you prefer.
Early attempts to remove tattoos have had less than desirable results. The use of dermabrasion, saltabrasion, and argon or CO2 lasers have left behind scars in place of the tattoo!
Now there’s good news for those of you that have an unwanted tattoo(s). Newer laser tattoo removal techniques can eliminate your tattoo with minimal side effects and at a reasonable price.
The advent of Q-switched lasers has permitted the removal of tattoo inks (pigments) with a very low risk of scarring. The MedLite Q-Switched Nd: YAG Laser is the laser of choice. The MedLite can lighten or remove a wider variety of Tattoo Inks.
During the initial consultation and after medical history is received, the laser process can begin. The entire process usually takes about 45 minutes. The actual laser removal process takes 15 to 20 minutes depending on the size of the tattoo and the colors used.
The impact of the energy from the laser's powerful pulse of light has been described as similar to getting hot specks of bacon grease on your skin or being snapped by a thin rubber band.
After we’ve removed your tattoo, the area is bandaged. There will be some redness to the skin and some blistering, but no worries, this is common and will go away. It is important to wait 4 to 6 weeks between treatments to allow more time for the area to heal.
Lasers remove tattoos by breaking up the pigment colors (tattoo ink) with a high-intensity light beam. Lasers work by producing short pulses of intense light that pass harmlessly through the top layers of your skin to be absorbed by the tattoo pigment. This laser energy causes the tattoo ink (pigment) to fragment into smaller particles (Dye) that are then removed by your body’s immune system.
Black tattoo pigment absorbs all laser wavelengths, making it the easiest to treat. Other colors, such as red, selectively absorb green laser light. Various colors can only be treated by selected lasers based upon the pigment color. The laser selectively targets only the tattoo ink in the tattoo without damaging the surrounding skin!
An antibacterial ointment and bandage are applied to the area immediately after treatment. Occasionally there will be pin-point bleeding associated with the treatment area. The treated area should be kept clean. You will follow Corrie’s instructions exactly as to what to do during the days following the laser treatment.
The tattoo ink is the only thing removed or lasered and that’s all you should be charged for.
“We charge $100.00 for the first square inch of tattoo ink and $50.00 per each additional square inch. For example: a small tattoo such as a name contains aprox. ¾ of an inch of tattoo ink. So you’re looking at about $75.00.“
The removal of tattoos can range from less than a hundred dollars (we have a $50.00 minimum charge) up to a few hundred dollars, depending upon the size of the tattoo and the number of visits required.
“In keeping with the tradition of the Emporium of Design, that tattoos should be affordable for everyone, Second Chances Tattoo Removal also believes that TATTOO REMOVAL should also be affordable for you too!”
